Does anybody have information as to how IBM charges for MIPS usage on
System z for workloads on CP, zIIP and zAAP processors. Has anybody been part
of projects that have realized the benefits of TCO on zAAP and zIIP other than

Simple question with no simple answer
Few hints:
1. IBM does NOT charge for workload on zIIP or zAAP. Usually ISV's also
don't do it.
So you buy zIIP (or zAAP) and your license fees won't grow. It is
possible the fees will be smaller.
2. IBM does charge per MSU (more or less comparable to MIPS), the more
MSU the more $$$ you pay. However details are complex. It depends on
software portfolio you have, in licensing model you use (WLC or PSLC or
other), etc. etc.
