I ran a test using PARALLEL for the restore and it worked. Thanks.

 You did not specify the
 PAR or SER keyword, so default is PARallel. I do not know if
 REST supports PARallel processing.

 Subject: DFDSS QUESTION - RESTORE MULTIPLE
 VOLUMES IN 1 JOB

 Good Day
 To All,

 I have a question
 about restoring multiple volumes using DFDSS.  I ran a
 'TYPRUN=NORUN' and there were no errors posted.  My
 question is will the volumes be restored similtaneously with
 DFDSS or will it be restored one pack at a time?  We used
 to have ExHPDM which restored 7 volumes at the same time.

 Below is an example of my jcl
 deck:

 //STEP1
    EXEC
 PGM=ADRDSSU,REGION=0M,PARM='TYPRUN=NORUN'
 //SYSPRINT  DD SYSOUT=*

 //DISK01   DD
 UNIT=SYSALLDA,VOL=SER=SYSRS2,DISP=SHR

 //DISK02   DD
 UNIT=SYSALLDA,VOL=SER=SYSRS3,DISP=SHR

 //DISK03   DD
 UNIT=SYSALLDA,VOL=SER=SYSRS4,DISP=SHR

 //TAPE01   DD
 DSN=SYSZ390.DFDSS.SYSRS2.COPY1(0),
 //            DISP=OLD

 //TAPE02   DD
 DSN=SYSZ390.DFDSS.SYSRS3.COPY1(0),
 //            DISP=OLD

 //TAPE03   DD
 DSN=SYSZ390.DFDSS.SYSRS4.COPY1(0),
 //            DISP=OLD

 //SYSIN    DD  *

 REST INDD(TAPE01) OUTDD(DISK01) PURGE COPYVOLID

  REST INDD(TAPE02) OUTDD(DISK02)
 PURGE COPYVOLID

 Your advice would be greatly
 appreciated.  If you have other suggestions please feel
 free to post them.

 Thanks
 in advance.
