In: z/OS 2.1.0>z/OS MVS>z/OS MVS JCL Reference>DD statement>SYMBOLS
parameter>Syntax
I read:
... Note that logging-DDname is ignored if it is specified on the DD
statement which
describes a data set that is the target on the PARMDD keyword ...
"ignored"!? WTF!? Why? So is there no way to see what substitutions are
performed
in PARMDD?
I suppose I could add an IEBGENER step, one with SYMBOLS=(...,LOGDD) and pass
SYSUT2 to the next step to use as PARMDD.
(The output in logging-DDname is needlessly verbose; it needn't show both BEFORE
and AFTER for lines in which no substitution is performed.)
