I found that it was easier to get a directory listing and run it through a quick little program to generate the individual FTP commands - then I didn't have to worry about anything and could more easily control the outcome. This has been a good discussion, and I am so glad for all your contributions. I will try the OGETX later, just for my knowledge, as I had not thought of that before.
