Well, I found out why the exits do not get control in the client
in a conf. call with IBM. The exits don't get control in the way
one would expect. Which is why I was never getting the S0C3 at
exit initialization!!
So, one needs to do some very interesting things to accomplish
validating the user's PARM info or INPUT DD info.
And "interesting things" primarily requires writing a module with
the name (or Alias) of FTP, going a validation of the PARM data
and/or the contents of the INPUT dd, and then invoking FTP via an
IBM provided alias, etc.
At least for now, that's the recommendation, until IBM is asked
for an enhancement to FTP, and they accept it and then provide it.
