UPGRADE OR SYSTEM REPLACEMENT? I can only speak to the SYSTEM REPLACEMENT PATH, and it is about 60-80 hours (36 for install/test of CB/PDO (once received)) and 24 to modify the current environment to use the newly created system. That is just for the install and migration. Does not include installing coexistence/fallback maint on current prod and also does not include exploitation of new features.
HTH, <snip> I'm not a sysprog and I'm trying to do a reality check on some numbers. What would the members of this august list guess would be the approximate number of work hours for an experienced z/OS sysprog to upgrade one LPAR from V1R13 to V2R1? No CICS, no DB2, just basic MVS, JES2 and RACF. Only a small handful of RACF users. Nothing "special." No application or ISV issues.
