Is there a special on red herrings? You seem to be offering a lot of

Yes, from a program running in an unexpwected AMODE. Use of BASSM
would have made that a nonisuue.

Only to one who doesn't understand the issue, which is *saving*,
setting and *restoring* the AMODE.
