Hi Folks,

CBT Tape Version 490 has just been cut and the web site www.cbttape.org has been (hopefully) updated.

There is one change that you should make, if you are downloading from a TAPE, or a virtual TAPE. There is no problem if you are downloading zipped XMIT files from the website (recently, from V490), or if you use the CBT001 disk (V490 only), backed up by DFDSS or FDR. You may have these problems if you downloaded from V489. They weren't fixed there. All problem lines were flagged using the SYSUPLOG file mentioned below, so they are findable and fixable.

Files affected: 182, 314, 033, 387, 546, 614 (member SHO9717L), 680, 795, 814, 847, 852, 854, 862 (member REVLMOD), 875, 882, 883 (member ADATA), 888, 889, 890, 897, 898, 917, 935.

This is what you do: Use the newest version of PDSLOADW or PDSLOAD (Version 10.0) only, just updated in Files 035, 135, and 093 and 316.

Download the member SYSUPLOG from File 008, and run job SYSUPLO$ from there, to create the "exception log pds". In the PDSLOAD JCL, add DD name of //SYSUPLOG and point it to this pds. Then there won't be any "data integrity" issues, with the string "><" in column 1 being erroneously changed to the string "./". The SYSUPLOG dataset was created during the making of the " V490 tape", to flag all cases of the string "><" in column 1 for FB-80 datasets which shouldn't be changed back to the string "./" by PDSLOAD. So (if you need to do this), you won't get any data integrity issues on PDF, WORD, or zip files which erroneously happen to have "><" in column 1 when folded to FB-80.

Sorry for this bother, but data integrity (as all of you well know) is always paramount.

Use everything in good health and happiness.

Sincerely, Sam
