As you have already heard that jumping from 1.13 to 2.2 is not much of a problem, I will be starting soon to do the same thing, but from Marna Walle's talk there could be a couple of "Gotcha's" if you go all the way to 2.2:
#1. If you are running an HTTP server, it is the "IBM HTTP Server powered by Apache (IHSA)" the old "IBM HTTP Server powered by Domino" will not be available in 2.2, it is still there in 2.1. For my shop, I do not think we are using anything specific to the Domino powered server, but I am attempting to migrate off it while we are still at 1.13. The following link points to instructions to add a Health Check that tests if you are running the Domino HTTP server: http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/installation/HTTP_Health_Checker.html Basically, if your started tasks for Web services has, "PGM=IMWHTTPD" you are running the Domino version. #2. As mentioned already, there is an increase in required space, I thought Marna's talk had something in it, but I could not find where it gave estimated space needed for 1.13, 2.1 & 2.2 Al Nims Systems Admin/Programmer 3 EI&O University of Florida (352) 273-1298 -----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Steve Beaver Sent: Friday, November 06, 2015 12:10 PM To: [email protected] Subject: zOS 2.1 vs. zOS 2.2 Generally was a group we all move on the odd-number releases. Does anyone have An opinion as to moving from 1.13 to 2.2 or is that too big a jump?
