Actually I think you meant 30051, not 30015. I seem to remember somewhere in the past, that IBM recommended the 30051 rather than the 32760 because the DSxxxx boxes carved out the physical storage in multiples of 1113 cylinders, which is an old mod1 size. Whether or not that still holds true, I don't know.
That said, when I built my first mod 27 volumes long ago in a place far away, I used 30051, and I got my hand slapped (logically, not physically) because I didn't use 32760. So I think it is a personal preference more than anything.
