Mainframe processes, right, so this question is on topic? :-) I have been using Visio since before Microsoft acquired it. I am quite fond of it. It is not specifically a flowcharting program but it does a decent job of flowcharting. I think of it as a "technical diagramming" tool (my words, not theirs) -- which would include flowcharts. There *may* be an add-in to do some sort of "standard" or "formal" flowchart but I have not looked. It is very flexible: I use it for diagrams showing the relationship among C++ classes and for those arrow-type syntax diagrams for commands.
It is part of the MS Office Suite. List price is probably astronomical but if you work for a medium or large company they may have licenses lying around. I need a free flowcharting tool to diagram the workflows for several mainframe processes. It would have to run on Windows. Google lists several, but I am not familiar with any of them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
