Hi all, I'm visually comparing two datasets by excluding and hiding lines:
X ALL HIDE X F '*' 2 ALL on both datasets, and the resulting screens are the same. PF8 on both, resulting screens are the same PF8 on both, resulting screens are the same PF8 on both, resulting screens are not the same, one screen has been scrolled one line less, so add an extra 1 PF8 on that one to re-synchronize, and PF8 on both, resulting screens are the same PF8 on both, resulting screens are not the same, one screen (same as above) has been scrolled one line less OK, enough, and lets do a DEL X ALL to remove all excluded (and hidden lines), followed by LOCATE .ZF on both. And guess what, a PF8 on both screens will keep them in sync, not a surprise, as I know with absolute certainty that both datasets contain exactly the same number of lines with an asterisk in column two. Further info? Terminal emulator: Tom Brennan's most excellent Vista tn3270 V1.27 Nov 12 2014, with a screen size of 62x160 and from the 7.3 variables list: ZENVIR S N ISPF 6.1MVS TSO ZISPFOS S N ISPF FOR z/OS 01.11.00 I have abso-flipping-lutely no explanation for this behaviour, any suggestion as to why this happens would be most welcome! If you want the two files, they come in either a 22kb WinRar (ftp.rar) archive, or a 49kb ZIP (ftp.zip) archive, and once UnRAR'ed or unZIP'ed, are plain text, and on the system here both are in VB datasets with a LRECL=515.
