Pretty simple - I want to generate equivalent "extended diagnostics" output but
without having to indicate so with a JCL DD //SORTDIAG, either using a
DFSPARMS/SORTCNTL parameter. I suppose the follow-on question would be to ask
why DIAGSIM=YES is not supported as a run-time parameter?

For comparison, SYNCSORT has such support communicated via a $ORTPARM DD (sort
operation control) parameter.
