CBU is either for a DR test or a real DR and not for running regular production workloads. There is a limit for the number of CBU tests you can have. Your contract will state this. Each CBU test lasts a max of 10 days. CBU activated for a real DR has a limit of 90 days. Are you thinking about On/Off Capacity Upgrade? If yes, there are 'automation' options for this. One is Capacity Provisioning Manager.
