If you have an iOS device from Apple -- iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- or
an Android device, and if you manage z/OS mainframe systems, I recommend
you download and start using IBM zEvent. For more information on IBM zEvent
and links to the zEvent mobile apps, please visit:

IBM is hosting a teleconference on July 13, 2016, from 14:00 to 15:00 CEST
-- starting at 12:00 UTC if my timezone math is correct -- if you'd like to
learn more about zEvent and ask questions. Details on the teleconference
are available at the Web site listed above. IBM just released Version 3.0.0
of zEvent with some significant new features, so even if you've looked at
zEvent in the past you'll probably want to have another look.

IBM zEvent is a notification and monitoring app to manage IBM z/OS
mainframes from smartphones and tablets. zEvent helps operators quickly
react to critical system messages, process failures, and resource
shortages. IBM zEvent receives and displays push messages but can
optionally poll as well, just in case the device or network missed a push
message. Notifications can include customized, site-specific information.
IBM zEvent also includes interfaces to z/OS tools such as RMF and the z/OS
Management Facility. (z/OSMF is optional but recommended.) IBM zEvent
supports end-to-end encryption and master password authentication, to make
sure that only authorized operators have access to notifications and other
information even if an operator's mobile device is lost or stolen.

There is no additional charge for IBM zEvent. It's yet another feature
included with your z/OS license. Currently IBM provides zEvent "as-is."
