I would ask your provider what software they found that does that.

As far as I know, when they bring up a zVM image for you to lay down your z/OS 
image on, the serial numbers are identical to what you run currently.  I have 
not seen a product that cannot run like that.

When I did DR at a DR Provider, they ensured through many meetings that our 
hardware layout (UCBs, etc) and serial numbers were what we were running at the 
time.

We logged onto z/VM at their site, downloaded our z/OS System and IPL'd.  We 
had no issues.

That they indicated they have seen that, perhaps they know what those are.

Note:  Many vendors can provide DR license codes to avoid these types of tests 
and issues
