That's why I used the example of a kid writing a z/OS Setup program on his home machine. There's no way he's going to pay for z/PDT or rent a VM guest, so he goes off and learns Java on Android. He could be writing a z/OS program to save a manager from hearing "It will take 3 months to install". Seems to me IBM would benefit in the end, perhaps greatly.

But Skip mentioned this home-use subject has been brought up at SHARE many times, so I'm sure anything I could think of has already been thought of.
