Well, color me educated. I did a CF STOR(1024M),ON and it came online! D M=STOR
now shows this. Again, this 1GB is not mentioned in the Image profile.

Jim Mulder asked me the same question. Neither Image profile has any reserved
storage. It occurred to me to check Storage Info via SOO. Sure enough, one LPAR
shows a 'gap' of 1GB; the other shows no gap. Apparently this came about as
PR/SM was assigning storage to LPARs during the last POR, which occurred within
the past few months.

'Reserved storage' shows up in z/OS as 'reconfigurable'. AFAIK unassigned
storage cannot be brought online.

Skip,

Is it possible your IMAGE profile has 46080 in Initial Storage allocation, and
1024 specified in reserve? Or even something less in Initial Storage and
larger in Reserve, and some automation is doing a CONFIG STOR(),ONLINE command?

I only ask because according to the "fine" manual says:

UNASSIGNED STORAGE: The number of megabytes of storage that is available to be
brought online in online storage elements. The storage can be brought online
with a CONFIG STOR (dddM),ONLINE command.

Subject: Real Storage Display

We recently noticed on our z12 that various z/OS images show different values
in response to D M=STOR. Below are from two LPARs on the same box. We cannot
see any difference in the Image profiles with respect to Storage, yet one shows
'Unassigned Storage' while the other does not. Any ideas?
