I did once at the behest of IBM support. But the firewall team was seeing port 443 stuff even before I tried. For whatever reason, this job I run weekly, and has been using TLS all along, never required FWFRIENDLY, and now it does.

Sounds like you started downloading using HTTPS instead of FTPS. Are you sure you didn't change your SMP/E <CLIENT> specification to add downloadmethod="https"?
