64 bit Linux on what platform? Intel? z? ARM? > The vendor who wants to unterse the file has tried Google but cannot find any > leads. Perhaps they should Google on "terse" rather than AMATERSE. IBM has terse for a number of platforms, but to my knowledge has not officially released any of them except for z/OS and z/VM. There are copies floating around out there, but they are not something I would suggest incorporating into any kind of production situation! I'm puzzled that a vendor (an ISV?) wants to deterse data from z/OS on a Linux platform. Could it not just be FTP'd or otherwise transferred in some more ordinary way? Maybe ZIP'd or tar'd on z/OS if you need the compression?
