Others mentioned that compatibility with existing use of the eighth character of user ID and DSN prefix could cause compatibility problems (no one seemed much concerned with UADS), and if the feature is optional many sites might choose not to enable it. Control block definitions might remain unchanged, with code to recognize that if the eighth byte is x'07' or less it's old format; otherwise new format. How does this affect ISPF directory stats? Someone else (Walt Farrell?) mentioned an existing facility to map network IDs (possibly long) to TSO IDs. -- gil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
