  z/OS AUTOIPL uses a Diagnose (which is implemented by LPAR and z/VM)
to initiate an IPL.   I think it is not currently implemented by zPDT. 
However,
if you run z/OS as a z/VM guest on zPDT, then AUTOIPL may work.
