Skip: If I remember correctly there is a fast erase with ICKDSF. If I remember correctly it takes 2 minutes or less per volume. I had a DASD IBMer tell me about it. We used it a fair amount with the amount of DASD we swapped in and out. This was back in the real 3390 days. Our management was really into making sure not any of our data got outside the glass room. I didn’t want to tell them that the communication was the weak link, that manager was my bosses boss.
