Lionel: As always to me it depends. It depends on the vendor. When I was responsible for Syncsort, every week they would send out sheets of zap’s to be applied. I really trusted Syncosort and I would put them on in the next fix cycle. Other vendors, not so much. I would resist putting any fixes on as it seemed like the fixes caused new problems. I won’t name the vendor except to say they use to buy up software companies like they were popcorn. One vendor I semi trusted and it bit me. 3AM on Sunday morning the damn product stopped working. I never trusted them again and it saved my bacon a few times.
