So the answer to my question above is NO, for the reasons you specified (only the FRBACKUP/FRRECOV/FRDELETE commands operate against copy pools). And I certainly have no desire to give an end user access to those commands from within the "P" selection, not to mention make them storage admins to even see that option. We are using copy pools for DB2, or at least the DB2 sysprogs are testing the functionality. My question related to the second usage: recovering a dataset from an offline, full-volume copy *without* the involvement of a storage admin. Our end users are already familiar with the dataset panels and the 3.4 line command option.
