> There are a number of SSI requests that have been un-documented

"Using the Subsystem Interface" for z/OS V2R2 is 626 pages. For z/OS V1R13, 504
pages. Does not seem like anything fell out there. Before that the doc is
BookManager and does not have page numbers.

For V2R2, IBM documents function codes 1, 11, 15, 20, 21, 54, 70, 71, 75, 79,
80, 82, 83 & 85.

For V1R10, IBM documents function codes 1, 11, 15, 20, 21, 54, 70, 71, 75, 79 &
80.

For OS/390 V2R8, IBM documents function codes 1, 15, 20, 21, 54, 75, 79 & 80.

So at least in the past 18 years it does not look like anything has fallen out
of the documentation.

Subject: Re: SUBSYS= ?

z/OS has had for a long time something called the SSI, the "SubSystem
Interface", which implicitly defines a specific kind of subsystem.
Yes, it is an overloaded word, but given the original question, there's really
no confusion about what is meant here. For searching, you probably want to
include some terms like IEFSSIREQ (not exactly that).

There are a number of SSI requests that have been un-documented, including all
of those needed to support SUBSYS=. The old documentation can be found
(maybe), but the CBT and JES2 suggestions are likely anyone's best chance to
work out how it works.

I have worked on developing such a thing, and I can say that it can be
difficult. I do not know what IBM's corporate policy is on doing this. I
presume they un-documented it for a reason.
