With 64K tracks, you could store almost a terabyte on one volume.
That would be change of "volume geometry". It's not so easy for
customers and would require many changes.
That's why IBM promised long time ago the 3390 would be the last geometry.
So 15 trk/cyl and 56664B/trk are saint. ;-)
