I had seen those before - but I kinda got lost in the idea of the
"Input TCB"; it doesn't
seem to say too much about shared subpools (or that the owning TCB will
be the attaching
task... or - I didn't see it, and got fixed on the pretty chart :-)
There is this little note:
"Note: The rules for task and job step owned storage ownership are
different
for shared subpools. For information about how the system assigns
ownership
for storage obtained from shared subpools, see Additional
considerations."
*but* - I do see that in the section on "additional considerations", it
says:
"If your program obtains storage from a subpool shared between a
task and its
attached subtasks, private storage ownership is assigned as follows:
- For task owned storage: the owning task is the task that
attached the
subtasks".
And - I do see in bold it says "When the owner terminates, the system
releases the storage".
So, I suppose, if you put all that together - it means things do what
you would
expect... just gotta dance around a little and read several references
before
it all becomes clear... :-)
