We set up a every half hour DCollect to catpture a snap shot of the Dasd (Volumes) Pools usage.

We also had a program that would read (SAS/MXG) the Dcollect data and report and issue minor and major alerts, Plus a quick readable sequencaly file with the Poll usage by 30mins for the last month or two. It would automatic create volumes to the OverFlow pool, if the pool went over a threshold, after 2 volume (M27's) it would generate a alert to OPS to call the Storage Team.

Subject: Message ID for Storage pool threshold

Hi

I am trying to write an automation rule using ops/MVS to capture a
particular storage pool usage.

Is there a message id which might of any help ? Or else if there is a
different way to capture the usage of storage pool ?

Jake
