Aren't we all? :-) [Insert your own horror stories here.] However, there are many mainframe shops that are at least starting to do AI well, and they're using Machine Learning for z/OS and other new capabilities (such as the IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator) for competitive advantage and improved customer/citizen services. Nonetheless, in some organizations -- maybe yours? -- there's a too wide gulf between the "mainframe people" (whatever that means) and front line business managers and users. That's a problem, because it maintains a disconnect between what enterprise technologies can do to help business, and what's actually (not) getting done.
