Hi Tony, I have used the Computer Associates MIA ( Multi Image Allocation, sometimes called MIM-Tape ) to share tape drives between multiple MVS ( later OS/390 and z/OS ) "environments". We also had VSE/ESA guests running under VM/ESA, however we were not able to build a business case to justify the VM component of CA-MIA. I don't recall how a VSE guest would gain access to a tape drive when running under VM with the VM component of CA-MIA. I know we discussed that requirement with CA, I just recall their answer.
Hope this helps. Glenn Miller ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
