And this is why I like Dovetailed Technologies (you know them {grin})
enhanced SSH server. It allows any sftp client to send a "command" (ls
/+mode=text or ls /+mode=binary) to set the ASCII<->EBCDIC translate on or
off. And a number of "commands" via the "ls /+" construct.
