Hi Folks

Regrettably, bookshelves were rarely, if ever, available outside the collection
kits for individual download from the IBM Publications Center, and with good
reason. Softcopy Librarian (SCL) requires a set of files, called descriptor
files, that are created as a by-product of the now defunct softcopy kit
manufacturing process. That’s why you cannot define the Library Server site as
a source repository in SCL. If you open SCL and click on the “Internet”
repository, you’ll see a list of available softcopy kits.

BookManager technology was very precise. The shelves required that the book
timestamps exactly match the shelf metadata. This scheme was used to help
ensure the currency of content for users who chose to manage their own local
repositories. The “z/OS Software Products Collection” shelves in SCL should
contain all the content you need. However, if there are product shelves and
books that you still need, let me know what they are. I will see what I can
do.
