Yes, HiperSockets present OSI Model Layer 3 and/or Layer 2, as you wish and
configure. Layer 2 support was added in the z10 model generation.

However, this redbook was published about 5 years ago, and there have been
several changes and improvements since. As one example, IPv6/VSE now
supports Layer 2.
