1) change the auto mount convention to include a system symbols (e.g. &SYSUID..&SYSNAME..USER.ZFS) and rename all *.*.USER.ZFS as needed. 2) Investigate OMVS SYSPLEX sharing. One file will be used for all participating images.

Cross posted to IBM-MAIN and the MVS-OE lists. We seem to be using HFS containers for the "/u/userid" directories at this location. Not my choice, nor am I likely to be able to change it. Bureaucracy rules. If I submit a batch job from LPAR A that uses Unix System Services facilities (e.g., execute the /bin/awk program using BPXBATSL) and the job runs on LPAR B and then I try to submit and execute the exact same batch job on LPAR A then I get a message about "can't mount user HFS on system" and an ERRNO code that seems to indicate an EBUSY condition. When this happens, I also cannot access my "/u/userid" directory under ISPF 3.17 from LPAR A, and I get the same sort of message and ERRNO condition from ISPF. I have taken to restricting my Unix batch jobs to un on just one LPAR to prevent this error (which is unrecoverable for me until the next weekend IPL). As a result I do not have the specific message or ERRNO value to present to you for analysis. Is there anything I can communicate to our sysprog team to allow me to run the same Unix System Services batch job on different LPAR's at different times and still retain the ability to access my "/u/userid" directory from the submitting LPAR without these mount errors?
