MIPS do NOT exist, and are simply made up numbers. They are a loose conglomeration that is similar to ITR. (where a 370/158 is considered a 1 MIPS machine). The concept simply doesn't exist in today's systems so that anyone claims it represents something, I would really like to hear the basis for their belief and evidence.
