I think you mean Transmission Group Number. TG has two meanings.
1. Old subarea routing that I'll ignore here 2. APPN TGN Identifies one of the parallel link stations between two APPN Control Points. XCF, Enterprise Extender, MPC CTC, or whatever. Mostly you can allow VTAM to assign the TGN automatically and they start at 21. If you have a reason you may assign a number from 1 to 20.
