PDSE member generations are a nice idea that doesn't really work in the production world. I say that because the member generations are not exposed outside of tools that have been written to specifically access them. You can't use member generations in JCL, dynamic allocation, OMVS services, ISPF services, IEBCOPY, . . . and the list goes on. So I am very interested in what anyone has done and/or experienced in this area.
