When I've been told by recruiters that I have to be on site, I try to get them to understand that for Systems Programming, there is almost no good reason to ever be on site. I also tell them that if the boss really wants to see my ugly face and that I'm not goofing off, I will start a Skype (or equivalent) call at 08:00 and leave it on the whole day.
