Q1. Can I change A=TRACE to A=NODUMP (possibly add MATCHLIM) just to see if get any bites? A1. No, but only because NODUMP is not a valid action on a PER trap. You could use something quite harmless like ACTION=STRACE. And yes you could use MATCHLIM so that you can not only get a message on the first match but display the trap to ascertain how many times it has hit and, as MATCHLIM does, to disable the trap upon reaching the limit.
Q2. Later, if we need to... Do I need to run GTF during the SLIP A=TRACE ? A2. Yes. A=TRACE says to capture data as a GTF trace, so it is natural that you need to have GTF to do so.
