What are X and n? Are you working with a full dump of Z or a oartial dump. The message indicates that the pointer is not within the dump.
It might be helpful to show how you got the pointer, especially if you're relying on storage that could have been freed before the dump or that was excluded from the dump. -- Shmuel (Seymour J.)
