I have four questions for running z/OS under z/VM.
1. What is your processor storage size ?
> z990 (2084-B16) with z/OS 1.7 (part of prod sysplex) running in LPAR1 w 36G, VM 5.1 running in LPAR2 with 9G Central and 3G Expanded
> z800 (2066-0B1) with z/VM 5.1 in LPAR1, 1.5G Central, 1/2G Expanded, one ancient OS/390 guest with a limited lifetime.
2. Do you run z/VM and z/OS in LPAR mode or z/VM in LPAR mode ?
> See #1 above.
3. How many z/OS systems do you run under z/VM ?
> Three "stress" (testing app changes before move to true production, but the users think of these Stress Test guests consider them "production") z/OS 1.7 guests in their own virtual sysplex
> One sysprog R&D monoplex
4. What are the storage size (min, max) of the z/OS systems under z/VM ?
>The three Stress Test sysplex guests and the R&D guests are all at 4G. The OS/390 is at 512M (seldom used).
