Larry, The information used to map a disk comes from the user directory; it is not maintained in a VTOC on the disk being mapped like MVS. Any disk with the same volser will have the same map. You probably need to verify that none of the disks in question has been initialized and put into use on MVS before you do anything. You also need to verify that there are not two sets of overlapping or replicated allocations defined in the directory for the duplicated volsers. You might wind up with two users inadvertently using the same disks.

From reading old posts I also guessing that Linux CANNOT= touch this device because it isn't listed as a minidisk. Well it is but n= ot this one. One more question.
