The one thing I didn't understand on "why we don't have emulated tape already?", is:
It's already available in VSE. Is this one of those things, that if CMSDOS was kept up to date, like it was in VSE/SP days (i.e. library access), would we already have it? Of course the VSE component is called Virtual Tape and that may be somewhat different then Emulated Tape. But from my perspective, I would take either. Tom Duerbusch THD Consulting
