First, thanks to all who have responded! It's gotten us further along. Alan, it's even worse than that [ compiling under Linux, running under CM S ]
We're trying to make use of DRDA to access the DB2/UDB on Linux with a kluge that consists of RPG-II(the obsolete DOS/VS version), ISPF, our existing DB2/VM database, and our own assembler interfaces that have been created over the years to make RPG-II, ISPF, and DB2/VM (and SQL/DS befor e it) do things they were never designed to do together. The 900-pound dancing bear, if you will. All we're really wanting to do is use the DB2/UDB as a "warehouse" for ou r old data that we need from time to time, and allow us to cut down the siz e of the DB2/VM database because it's quickly approaching its practical limits in our environment, and apparently the DB2/UDB isn't going to implemented for z/VM-VSE.
