I would suspect there is good reason to believe it will help, but I'll throw in some dependencies. Typically, a separate SFS server is used for DIRC dataspace directories than the normal R/W server. A file pool server for R/O dataspaces tends to have far fewer (and quicker) control data backups. Also, there is far less interaction with the file pool server in the dataspace scenario. To get the most benefit, you'd want the end users in XC mode. You may also want to look at trying to manage the control backups different. Different configuration options can help, as well as backing up to a 2nd filepool.
