Hi Alan, I assume this means support for z/VM 4.4 running on a z800 platform will not be supported after 30 September too?

Based on feedback here and in other venues, we re-examined that decision to see if a business case existed that would allow us to continue service. While there were some reasons to extend z/VM 4.4 service, the reasons not to extend service were more compelling. So, September 30 of this year will bring z/VM 4.4 to an end, and with it goes support for 9672 G5 and G6, Multiprise 3000, and FLEX-ES (non-PWD) machines. If you are interested in purchasing an extended service contract, please contact your IBM Business Partner. Know that this decision was not [re-]made lightly, and included input from IBM business teams from around the world. Alan Altmark Sr. Software Engineer IBM z/VM Development
