If it's attached to an ID, then you can't link it. LINK only works for minidisks. > I thought about defining the mdisk to maint and then trying to link to it Try this: CP format the disk and allocate it as PERM using ICKDSF ATTACH cuu SYSTEM Use your directory management tool (DIRM, etc) to allocate a minidisk on the new volume for userid LINUX1 at some virtual address (A10 from your example). Log into LINUX1 and '#CP LINK * A10 A10 WR' or 'hcp LINK * A10 A10 WR' At that point, the new disk is available to LINUX1 to be tweaked.
