As I think about this problem it reminds of something I saw ages ago.
New box wouldn't IPL; turned out it was something to do with 2k/4k pages
- told you it was old. I'm not suggesting your having a 2k/4k issue! -
but - maybe there is some funky microcde - some obscure setting in the
hardware?
Have you tried a tape or rdr IPL? I'd be interested in seeing the
results of a rdr ipl.

I think that the code 203 indicates a storage problem but I am looking
now.

I am being to suspect that the I MUST if done something but my logs do
