Title: RE: [IBMVM] Hipersockets - problem with some guests

sigh your yast picture was, well, questionable. I suppose I have seen something similar I always choose the low order device (0.0.ec00) and ignore the others. Attached versus dedicate: should not be a difference as longas the devices are available to the virtual linux server.

Subject: [IBMVM] Hipersockets - problem with some guests

Strangely some guests show individual address of hipersockets triad
while configuring network via YaST in SLES9. For example, see below:

?????????????????????? Network cards configuration
? Network card setup? ?Network cards to configure??????????????????????
? ? ? ?Available are:?????????????????????????????? ?
?Configure your ? ? ?IBM Hipersocket (0.0.ec00) ? ?
?network card here. ? ? ?IBM Hipersocket (0.0.ec01) ? ?
? Adding a network ? ? ?IBM Hipersocket (0.0.ec02) ? ?
?card: ? ? ?IBM IUCV ? ?
?Choose a network ? ? ?Other (not detected) ? ?
?card from the list ? ? ????????????????????????????????????????????? ?
?of detected network ? ? [Configure...] ?
?cards. If your ? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????
?network card was not? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????
?autodetected, select? ?Already configured devices: ?
?Other (not detected)? ? * IBM OSA Express Ethernet card (0.0.0064) ?
?then press Configure? ? Configured with Address 172.24.6.107 ?
?. ? ? ?
? Editing or ? ? ?
?Deleting: ? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????
?If you press Change,? [Change...]
?an additional dialog?

and I am not able to configure hipersockets adaptor hsi0. I tried
different things - using DEDICATE instead of ATTACH etc. The same result.

Again, it is only for some guests.

Hmmm?
